
Murray Cook has a long track record of consistent
success in building companies and developing executive
teams in complex markets and emerging technology
environments. As an innovative strategic leader and
skilled communicator, he displays a comprehensive
understanding of business and customer needs from
product conceptualization through development,
deployment, customer delivery and after-sales support.
In addition to being a successful
technology architect – particularly in Enterprise
Reverse Supply Chain Management – Murray is adept at
financial model architecture for multi-year company,
business unit, program and product development, and was
the functional architect for an online brokerage and
financial management company. With the DOD, he managed
development of critical communications programs, and
acted as strategy/business/financial consultant aligned
with sensitive DOD programs and related industries.
He has extensive domestic and
international sales management experience in both Global
500 and startup companies. His industry experience spans
Government (DOD, Intelligence, Security), Energy,
Financial Services, Insurance, Technology and Consumer
Electronics industries. Murray's accomplishments
include development of sales organizations from
initialization to $200M+ recurring revenue, as well as
development of direct and channel sales programs (OEM,
VAR, Distributor, Integrator, Retail). Further, he has
been a key manager and advisor on mergers and
acquisitions for technology and DOD companies.
As President of Brown and Cook Consulting, Inc.,
he provides management consulting focused on emerging
software architecture, communication and messaging
innovations, strategic repositioning of Global 500
divisions. Mr. Brown also acts as an advisor to startup
CEOs and Division General Managers for development of
corporate strategy, product development, market
positioning/repositioning, sales strategy, capital
acquisition; Liaison between investment capital sources
and company executives; and financial advisor on
investment structure.
From 2001 to 2006, Murray was CEO of eBoomerang, Inc., during which time he provided turnaround
leadership for Venture Capital investment, and was the
chief functional architect for innovative business
intelligence intelligence in Supply Chain/Reverse Supply
Chain. He formed a joint development effort with a
Fortune 500 company for comprehensive product
development, secured marquis customers, developed market
positioning and messaging strategy, and recruited and
retained technical and executive team as well as senior
executive board of directors. During this time he
established the company as "Best of Breed" technology in
the Reverse supply Chain industry, and secured a merger
partnership with an Enterprise Supply Chain Software
company.
As CEO of Migration Software
Systems Ltd. from 1989 to 2001, Murray identified
an emerging market opportunity and founded
a consulting company driven by innovative RISC
technology change in the computer industry. He designed
and developed early core systems and technologies, secured major contracts with Fortune 500 companies
(Cisco, GE, HP, DEC, BEA) and Government agencies
(DOD, Intelligence Community) for system development,
and developed the company's financial/reinvestment model. Mr. Brown recruited, mentored and retained executive team and
senior technical staff, established their international consulting business with
operations in the UK and France, and built multiple market penetration while maintaining
profitability. In addition, he provided executive consulting services to startup
companies, government agencies, and Global 500
companies for technology selection and
implementation as well as innovative sales channel
development.
Prior to Migration Software Systems, Murray also held key positions at MIPS Computer Systems,
(1987-1989), Stanford Telecommunications
(1985-1987), Parallel Computer Systemm (1983-1985) and Digital
Equipment Corporation (1972-1983)
Murray has served on the Board of Directors for
Foliofn, Inc., and Migration Software, LLC,
as well the Board of Advisors for Mantech
International (NASDAQ: MANT), Azora Techologies,
and Aegis Research Corporation.
Murray earned a B.S. in
Mathematics from the University of Florida and an
M.S. in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in
Biomedical Engineering, from the University of Santa
Clara. He is a graduate of the Tuck Executive Management
Program through the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth
College. He is also a graduate of the Air Force
Institute of Technology, with a graduate residency at
Texas A and M University, in Meteorology, and he is a
Certified Meteorologist. |
